Wheel Hub: Service and Repair
FRONT HUB/BEARINGFig. 3 Disassembled View Of Hub & Bearing Assembly:
1. Remove knuckle from vehicle and mount into a suitable vise.
2. Using a suitable screwdriver, remove dust deflector.
3. Using seal remover tool No. J-26941 or equivalent, remove inner grease seal from knuckle, Fig. 3.
4. Remove inner bearing snap ring and disc brake dust shield.
5. Push out hub using hub remover tool Nos. J-25287 and J-35378 or equivalents.
6. Using tools mentioned in step 5, remove outer bearing race from hub.
7. Using seal remover tool No. J-26941 or equivalent, remove outer grease seal.
8. Using bearing remover tool Nos. J-35399 and J-35379 or equivalents, remove bearing assembly.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Use bearing installation tool Nos. J-8092 and J-35411 to install hub bearing assembly. Use seal installation tool No. J-35737 to install outer grease seal. Install hub using tool Nos. J-8092 and J-35399. Use tool No. J-35737 to install inner grease seal. Use ring installation tool No. J-35379 to install dust deflector ring. Ensure dust deflector ring faces down (open end down).
