Backup Lamp: Description and Operation

Whenever the ignition switch is in the "ON" position, Battery voltage is applied through Fuse C-12 to the BACKUP LAMP SWITCH (Manual Transaxle), INHIBITOR SWITCH (GSi - Automatic Transaxle) or BACKUP/NEUTRAL START SWITCH (Base - Automatic Transaxle). When the manual selector (Automatic Transmission) or gearshift control lever (Manual Transmission) is placed in "R", the switch closes and Battery voltage is applied to the Backup Lamps within the REAR COMBINATION LAMPS. The Backup Lamps are permanently grounded at G403 and G404.
