Without Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)
HEADLAMPS
The Lighting Relay in the FUSE AND RELAY BOX receives Battery voltage at all times through Fusible Link FL-2. When the LIGHT SWITCH is in the HEADLAMP position, the coil of the Lighting Relay is grounded through the LIGHT SWITCH at G201. When the ground is provided, the Lighting Relay is energized and provides voltage to the HEADLAMPS through Fuse E-7, Fuse E-8 and the High-Beam Indicator. The COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL/DIMMER SWITCH has a low-beam and high-beam selection function. When the COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL/DIMMER SWITCH is in low-beam selection, the low-beam filaments are grounded through the COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL/DIMMER SWITCH at G201. When the COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL/ DIMMER SWITCH is in high-beam selection, the high-beam filaments and High-Beam Indicator will ground through the COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL/DIMMER SWITCH at G201. Whenever the HEADLAMPS are in high-beam selection, the High-Beam Indicator will light.
With the COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL/DIMMER SWITCH in the PASS position and the LIGHT SWITCH in any position, the COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL/DIMMER SWITCH provides a ground path for the Lighting Relay, High-Beam Indicator, low-beam filaments and high-beam filaments at G201. The Lighting Relay then energizes and provides Battery voltage to the HEADLAMPS through Fuse E-7, Fuse E-8 and the High-Beam Indicator. There are two modes of PASS operation. One mode is the operation of the high-beam headlamps, low-beam headlamps and FOG LAMPS (if equipped and FOG LAMP SWITCH is ON). The other mode is the operation of the high-beam headlamps only. The PASS operation will alternate between these two modes each time the COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL/DIMMER SWITCH is placed in the PASS position. The High Beam Indicator will light in both modes.
FOG LAMPS
The (Fog Lamp) Relay, located in the RELAY BOX, receives Battery voltage to its contacts at all times through Fuse C~4. The coil side receives voltage from Fuse E-7 whenever the Lighting Relay is energized. When the FOG LAMP SWITCH is pressed to the ON position, the coil of the (Fog Lamp) Relay is grounded through the FOG LAMP SWITCH and the COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL/ DIMMER SWITCH at G201. When a ground signal is provided, the (Fog Lamp) Relay is energized, its contacts are pulled closed, and voltage is provided to the FOG LAMPS. The LH FOG LAMP is permanently grounded at G102 and the RH FOG LAMP is permanently grounded at G103. The LIGHT SWITCH must be in the HEADLAMP position and the COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL/DIMMER SWITCH must be in the LOW position in order for the FOG LAMPS to operate.
