Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV)



EGR SOLENOID VACUUM (SV) VALVE TEST

1. Disconnect two vacuum hoses from EGR SV valve.

2. Disconnect electrical connector with ignition switch in the "OFF" position.

3. Using a digital multimeter measure resistance between two terminals of EGR SV valve.

4. You should have 33-39 ohms of resistance. If resistance is within specification proceed to step 5. If not, replace EGR SV valve.

5. Blow air into tube "A," air should exhaust through filter, not tube "B."

6. Reconnect electrical connector.

7. Ignition ON, ground diagnostic request terminal.

8. Blow air into tube "A," air should exhaust from tube "B" now. If valve fails the check, replace EGR SV valve.
