Backup Lamp: Description and Operation

CIRCUIT OPERATION
Whenever the ignition Switch is in the "ON" or "START" position, battery voltage is applied through the GAUGE Fuse, Audio Alarm Module and Junction Block 3 to the Backup Lamp Switch (Manual Transaxle) or Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Switch (Automatic Transaxle). When the gearshift control lever/manual selector lever is placed in "R," the switch closes and battery voltage is applied to the Backup Lamps. Because the Backup Lamps are permanently grounded at G400 they will remain lit until the gearshift control lever/manual selector lever is moved out of the "R" position.
