Interior Lamps
CIRCUIT OPERATIONIllumination Lamps
Voltage is applied at all times through the DOME Fuse and Junction Block 1 to the Dome Lamp, Map Lamp and Luggage Compartment Lamp. The Dome Lamp is grounded through Junction Block 1, the Audio Alarm Module and any one of the four door jamb switches. The door jamb switches when closed (with the door opened), complete a ground path for the Dome Lamp. With both power and ground provided, the Dome Lamp will light. The Dome Lamp will remain lit until all the doors are closed. The Dome Lamp can also be turned ON with all the doors closed. This can be accomplished by turning the Dome Lamp Switch to the "ON" position. With this switch in this position, the ground path is completed through the Dome Lamp. The Dome Lamp circuit can also be bypassed all together. This is done by turning the Dome Lamp Switch to the "OFF" position. By doing this, the Dome Lamp will never light.
The Map Lamp is permanently grounded through Junction Block 1 and Junction Connector 1 to G200. With voltage applied and the Map Lamp Switch pressed to the ON position, the Map Lamp lights. The Map Lamp can only be turned ON and OFF by depressing this switch. The Luggage Compartment Lamp is grounded through the Luggage Compartment Lamp Switch. The Luggage Compartment Lamp Switch is closed whenever the Deck Lid is opened. With voltage applied and the Luggage Compartment Lamp Switch closed, the Luggage Compartment Lamp lights. The only way the Luggage Compartment Lamp can be turned ON and OFF is by opening and closing the Deck Lid.
Cigar Lighter
With the Ignition Switch in the "ACC" or "ON" positions voltage is applied through the CIG/RADIO Fuse to the Cigar Lighter. The Cigar Lighter is permanently grounded through Junction Connector 3 and Junction Connector 1 to G200. With voltage applied and the Cigar Lighter pressed in, the Cigar Lighter heating element will begin to heat up. When the heating element reaches a predetermined value, the Cigar Lighter will pop up, thus interrupting the circuit.
