Interior Lamps Dimming

CIRCUIT OPERATION
When the Light/Turn Signal Switch is in PARK or HEAD, voltage is applied through the TAIL Fuse, Audio Alarm Module and Junction Connector 2 to the Cigar Lighter Illumination Lamp, Ashtray Illumination Lamp and Hazard Switch Illumination Lamp. Voltage is also applied through Junction Connector 2 and Junction Block 3 to the Heater Control Unit Illumination Lamps, Radio, Manual Selector Lever Illumination Lamp, A/C Switch Illumination Lamp, Rear Defogger Switch Illumination Lamp, Instrument Cluster Illumination Lamps and the Illumination Controller. The lamps are grounded through Junction Block 3 and the Illumination Controller. Since the Illumination Controller is permanently grounded through Junction Block 3, Junction Connector 3 and Junction Connector 1 to G200, the lamps light when voltage is applied.

The brilliance of the lamps is controlled by the Illumination Controller. The Illumination Controller controls the amount of current applied to the lamps as the knob is turned either clockwise or counterclockwise. As the amount of current increases, the lamps become brighter. As the amount of current decreases, the lamps become dimmer.
