Gearshift Controls
Gear selection is transmitted from the gearshift control lever, to the transaxle by means of a gearshift control shaft. The gearshift control shaft is connected to the transaxle gearshift shaft by the gearshift control shaft joint. When the transaxle gearshift shaft is moved in, out or turned, its movement is transmitted by means of an arm and yoke to the gearshift and select shaft assembly. The gearshift and select shaft assembly is responsible for actuating each shift shaft and fork for the desired transaxle gearshift. A gearshift interlock plate is provided to prevent two different gears from engaging during shifting.
