Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Disable the SRS. Refer to Disabling the SRS.
3. A-pillar lower trim panel from both sides.
4. One nut from each kick panel and panels from vehicle.
5. Steering wheel. Refer to SRS Standard Steering Wheel and Column or SRS Tilt Wheel and Column.
6. Five screws and steering column upper and lower trim panels.
7. Center console. Refer to Center Console.
8. Instrument cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Assembly.
9. One screw and instrument panel left-side ventilation duct.
10. One screw and instrument panel right-side ventilation duct.
11. Left, center, and right side electrical connectors and fuse blocks fromunder instrument panel.
12. Left and right ground wires.
13. Three screws and set aside heater control unit assembly.
14. Two bolts and cruise control module (if equipped); disconnect electrical connector.
15. Two bolts and disconnect ground wires from instrument panel support bracket 16. Electrical connectors from heater case.
17. Unclip and remove right and left lower B-pillar trim covers.
18. Right rear and left rear door lock electrical connectors (if equipped).
19. Unclip and remove right and left A-pillar trim covers.
20. Release four clips around instrument panel left side outlet trim bezel by pulling with flat-bladed screwdriver (notice hole at bottom of trim bezel for screwdriver access).
21. Illumination controller and remote control mirror switch (if equipped) electrical connector.
22. Two bolts, two nuts and disconnect steering column from instrument panel.
23. Passenger inflator module. Refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).
24. Four mounting bolts from instrument panel.
25. Instrument panel from vehicle by lifting up and pulling toward rear, disengaging five clips.
Disassemble
1. One screw and instrument panel right side ventilation duct from vehicle.
2. Pull instrument panel left side ventilation duct loose and remove from vehicle.
3. Two screws and instrument panel center ventilation duct.
4. Pull defroster nozzle duct loose and remove from vehicle.
5. Two screws and instrument panel left side outlet duct from instrument panel.
6. Two screws and instrument panel right side outlet duct from instrument panel.
7. One screw and right-side side window defroster duct from instrument panel.
8. Unclip left-side side window defroster duct and remove from instrument panel.
9. Six screws and defroster nozzle from vehicle.
10. Unclip defroster nozzle outlets and remove them from instrument panel.
11. Ten screws and instrument panel wiring harness.
Assemble
1. Instrument panel wiring harness; secure with ten screws.
2. Clip defroster nozzle outlets into the instrument panel.
3. Defroster nozzle to vehicle; secure with six screws.
4. Clip left-side side window defroster duct onto instrument panel.
5. Right-side side window defroster duct to instrument panel; secure with one screw.
6. Instrument panel right side outlet duct to instrument panel; secure with two screws.
7. Instrument panel left side outlet duct to instrument panel; secure with two screws.
8. Defroster nozzle duct to vehicle.
9. Instrument panel center ventilation duct to vehicle; secure with two screws.
10. Instrument panel left side ventilation duct to vehicle.
11. Instrument panel right side ventilation duct to vehicle; secure with one screw.
Install or Connect
1. Instrument panel to vehicle; secure with five clips.
2. Four mounting bolts to instrument panel.
Tighten
^ Instrument panel mounting bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb.ft.).
3. Steering column to instrument panel; secure with two bolts and two nuts.
4. Passenger inflator module. Refer to Supplemental Inflatable Restraint System (SRS).
5. Left-side outlet trim bezel, connect illumination controller and remote control mirror switch (if equipped) electrical connector.
6. Right and left A-pillar trim covers.
7. Right rear and left rear door lock electrical connectors (if equipped).
8. Right and left lower B-pillar trim covers.
9. Electrical connectors to heater evaporator case.
10. Ground wires to instrument panel support bracket; secure with two bolts.
11. Cruise control module (if equipped); connect electrical connectors and secure with two bolts.
12. Position heater control unit assembly and secure with three screws.
13. Left and right ground wires.
14. Left, center and right side electrical connectors and fuse blocks to instrument panel.
15. Instrument panel right-side ventilation duct; secure with one screw.
16. Instrument panel left-side ventilation duct; secure with one screw.
17. Instrument cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Assembly.
18. Center console. Refer to Center Console.
19. Steering column upper and lower trim panels; secure with five screws.
20. Steering wheel. Refer to SRS Standard Steering Wheel and Column or SRS Tilt Steering Wheel and Column.
21. Two kick panels; secure each with one nut.
22. Two A-pillar lower trim panels.
23. Enable the SRS. Refer to Enabling the SRS.
24. Negative (-) battery cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Battery.
