A/C System Cleaning Procedure
A single application of the Air Conditioning Deodorizer, GM P/N 12377951, will remove musty odors from the air conditioning system.CAUTION: The Air Conditioning Deodorant is a skin and eyes irritant.
Avoid skin and eye contact. Avoid breathing vapor.
FIRST AID:
For skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
For eye contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes; if irritation persists, contact physician.
If ingested, do not Induce vomiting; contact physician immediately.
If inhaled, move to fresh air; contact physician.
1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK.
2. Set parking brake.
3. Make sure cowl vent grill is clear.
4. Place auxiliary fan in front of vehicle.
5. Set A/C switch to OFF.
6. Set air mode to VENT.
7. Set fresh/recirc to FRESH.
8. Set temperature control to full HOT.
9. Start engine.
10. Set blower speed to HI for 10 minutes.
11. Shake well the contents of Air Conditioning Deodorizer, GM P/N 12377951.
12. insert extension tube into can nozzle.
13. Remove I/P compartment. Refer to instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Description:
14. Remove right side vent duct by removing one screw, then pull duct from vehicle.
Description:
15. Drill a 3 mm (1/8 inch) hole on the evaporator case upper half in exact location as shown.
16. Wear safety goggles and latex gloves.
17. Cover carpet area underneath blower case and evaporator case with shop rag to collect deodorizer liquid that may spill out of the evaporator case and/or blower case.

18. Insert extension tube into hole past the mark on the tube.
19. With the blower still on HI, spray contents of the Air Conditioning Deodorizer over a 5 minute period with short bursts while varying the direction of the tube.
20. Turn blower speed to OFF.
21. Turn ignition switch to LOCK.
22. Let vehicle sit for 5 minutes. During this time, seal the 3 mm (1/8 inch) hole with RTV Silicone Rubber Sealant, GM P/N 12345739, or equivalent.
23. Start engine.
24. Set blower speed to HI for 20 minutes.
25. Install left vent duct; secure with one screw.
26. Install I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
27. Turn ignition switch to LOCK.
