Tachometer: Service and Repair

Description:

Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Two screws and instrument cluster trim panel, disengaging two lower clips.
3. Four screws and instrument cluster assembly, disconnecting three electrical connectors.
4. Two screws securing instrument cluster bezel and lens to instrument cluster housing.
5. Seven clips and bezel, with lens, from instrument cluster housing.
6. Three screws and tachometer from instrument cluster housing.

IMPORTANT
^ Do not remove needle from tachometer. There is no detent or flat spot on shaft to indicate correct placement.

Install or Connect
1. Tachometer to instrument cluster housing; secure with four screws.
2. Bezel, with lens, to instrument panel cluster housing; push firmly until all seven clips are engaged; secure with two screws.
3. Three instrument cluster electrical connectors.
4. Instrument cluster assembly to instrument panel; secure with four screws.
5. Instrument cluster trim panel, engaging two lower clips; secure with two screws.
6. Negative (-) battery cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Battery.
