Preliminary Diagnosis - Overcharged Battery

1. To determine the battery's condition, refer to Diagnosis in Battery.
2. If an obvious overcharge condition exists (as evidenced by the spewing of electrolyte), check the field windings for grounds and shorts. If the field winding is faulty, replace the rotor and retest the generator for proper voltage output. Refer to "Disassembly, Test and Reassembly". Unit Repair
