Circuit Operation

Whenever the Ignition Switch is in the "ON" or "START" position, battery voltage is applied through the GAUGE Fuse, Audio Alarm Module and Junction Block 3 to the Backup Lamp Switch (Manual Transaxle) or Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Switch (Automatic Transaxle).

When the Gearshift Control Lever/Manual Selector Lever is placed m R," the switch closes and battery voltage is applied to the Backup Lamps. Because the Backup Lamps are permanently grounded at G400 they will remain lit until the Gearshift Control Lever/Manual Selector Lever is moved out of the "R" position.
