CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the left engine mount with the new mount listed under Parts Information. If the customer reports a bouncing sensation from the front end at 35-40 mph, in addition to the compressor noise, also replace the front transmission mount as described in Bulletin 84-037.

Left Engine Mount:

1. Support the engine with a jack or a hoist.

2. Remove and discard the left engine mount. Also discard the flat washers shown.

3. Install the new mount. Torque the nuts (or nut and bolt) to 75 N-m (55 ft.lbs.), then tighten the long bolt so it's just snug.

4. Remove the jack or hoist, then torque the long bolt to 65 N-m (48 ft.lbs.).

5. Start the engine and make sure the A/C suction hose isn't touching the mount; if necessary, bend the metal end of the hose so the hose will clear the mount.
