Seat Belt Won't Retract PROBLEM
Three-point type seat belt is twisted and won't retract.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. For a front belt, remove the lower trim panel from the center pillar. For the rear belt on an Accord, remove the rear seat, door sill molding, and quarter trim panels.
Retractor:
2. Gently pull on the belt with one hand, and rotate the retractor spool back and forth, with the other until the spool lock releases.
3. Pull the belt out of the retractor as far as it will go, and remove anything that may be caught in it... Untwist the belt if necessary and let it retract.
4. Pull the belt all the way out again and let it retract again. Repeat this several limes to make sure the retractor works properly. If the
belt is damaged, or the retractor doesn't work properly, replace the belt assembly. Component parts are not available, and the retractor is not repairable. Refer to the seat belt replacement procedure in the Body Section of your Service Manual to make sure you install the anchor bolt collars and washers correctly.
5. Reinstall the trim panels (and seat if a rear belt).
