TORX(R) SCREWS Removal and Installation
For more efficient assembly of certain the 1984 models, a new-style Torx(R) head is being used.

For example, this type of screw is used to secure the rear spoiler to the hatch on the 1984 Civic Hatchback.

This Torx(R) screw differs from other Torx(R) fasteners in that it has a raised boss in the center of the cut out on its head. Because of this, a special Torx(R) bit with a hole in its center is required to remove and install this type of screw.
One known source for this bit is the Kent-Moore Tool Division. Order the Torx(R) T30H bit, part number X34390. The cost is $3.10 each.

Order from:

Kent-Moore Tool Division
Attn: Order desk 29784 Little Mack Roseville, MI 48066-9984

This bit can be used with a 6 mm (or 1/4 in) socket or you can use the Kent-Moore special holder, J25359-8.

The Torx(R) bit is brought to your attention solely for your information. A similar tool is available from Mac Tools. Order the T30HB bit.
