Defective D.I.N. Cord on 1985 Model Equalizer

PROBLEM

Either a humming noise, or no sound at all coming from radios equipped with a 1985 graphic equalizer.

CARS AFFECTED

Any car equipped with either of the following 1985 model equalizers:

CORRECTIVE ACTION

1. Install the new type D.I.N. cord (H/C 2062032) in the car. Replace the radio if it was damaged by the defective D.I.N. cord.

Center Punch:

2. Center punch a mark on the firewall above the third letter of the V.I.N.

The new D.I.N. cord has a white paint mark on its 90-degree connector.
