Throttle Control System

1. Connect tachometer, then start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from throttle controller. Engine speed should rise to 1700 RPM.
3. If engine speed does not rise to 1700 RPM, loosen locknut and adjust by turning adjusting nut, Fig. 50. If RPM does not change, check vacuum at hose.
4. If vacuum is not present, check vacuum line for leaks or blockage. If line is satisfactory, replace check valve and repeat test. If vacuum is present, check throttle controller linkage for free movement and adjustment. If satisfactory, replace throttle controller and repeat test.
