Exc. 1987---88 Accord & Prelude
Sometimes the dash warning light and/or electronic control unit LED's will come on briefly, indicating a system problem, but the warning lamp turns off and/or no apparent malfunction exists. This condition can be caused by a bad or intermittent electrical connector. To diagnose a bad connection, note the electronic control unit LED pattern that is lit, then refer to the preliminary self-diagnosis chart, Fig. 46, and check connectors associated with the items mentioned in the Possible Cause column for that LED pattern. Reset the ECU memory as outlined in Clearing Self-Diagnosis Codes, road test vehicle, then recheck the LEDs. If the same LED pattern lights up, proceed with PGM-FI System Self-Diagnosis. If the same LED pattern does not light up, problem was a bad connection.
