Out-of-Warranty Security System Repair
To expedite the repair of out-of-warranty security systems, Alpine (the system's manufacturer) has established a program to repair/exchange control units and remote controls. The main benefits of this program are factory repairs at fixed rates, and a quick turnaround time. This program applies only to the dealer-installed Honda Vehicle Security System; P/N 08174-SF100AH, H/C 2735850.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Refer to Service Bulletin 89-011 for system trouble shooting procedures. If the control unit or remote unit is determined to be the cause of the malfunction, remove the control unit from the car. Ship both units to the Alpine service center. A dealer check for the repair/exchange cost should be included. The units will be repaired/exchanged and shipped back to you within two working days of receipt by Alpine. Shipping is via UPS surface mail (prepaid) or, if you request it, via UPS air mail (C.O.D.). The repaired/exchanged units will be guaranteed by the service center for 90 days from the date of the paid customer repair order - see SHIPPING PROCEDURE.
PHYSICALLY DAMAGED UNITS
Units that are damaged, either during shipping or by misuse, cannot be repaired/exchanged for the fixed-rate cost listed under SHIPPING PROCEDURE; nor can they be shipped back to you within a two-day turnaround time. Damaged units will be inspected, and you will receive an estimate of additional charges. If you approve this estimate, the unit will be repaired and shipped back to you as promptly as possible; additional charges
will be due C.O.D. If you do not approve the estimate, the units and your check will be shipped back to you. In this case, you will be subject to a diagnosis, shipping, and handling charge of $15.00, due C.O.D.
NOTE:
^ Units sent without proper identification will be held unrepaired until the proper identification is received.
SHIPPING PROCEDURE
^ Complete an Out-of-Warranty Radio Repair form (Y0182) and include it with the defective units.
^ Pack the units carefully to prevent shipping damage.
^ Enclose your check in the amount of $45.00.

Alpine Electronics 19145 Gramercy PI. Torrance, CA 90501 (800) 421-2284 (800) 262-4150 (Ca. only)
