Fig. 32 Fuel Cut-Off Relay Terminal Identification:

Fig. 33 Testing Fuel Pump:

Check for clogged fuel filter and/or fuel line before checking fuel pump pressure.
1. Remove dashboard under cover and the fuel cut-off relay from the fuse box.
2. Connect No. 1 terminal to No. 2 terminal, Fig. 32, located at fuse box side of fuel cut-off relay.
3. Disconnect fuel line at fuel filter in engine compartment and connect pressure gauge, Fig. 33.
4. Turn ignition to On position until pressure stabilizes, then turn key off.
5. Pressure should be 2.6-3.3 psi. If gauge shows at least 2.6 psi, proceed to step 6. If gauge does not show at least 2.6 psi, replace pump and repeat test.
6. Remove pressure gauge and hold a graduated container under hose.
7. Turn ignition to On for 60 seconds, then turn ignition to Off and measure amount of fuel flow.
8. If fuel flow is 25.7 ounces or more in 60 seconds, reconnect cut-off relay and fuel hose.
9. If fuel flow is less than 25.7 ounces, test fuel cut-off relay.
