System Specifications

PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS

Two-Way Valve Stabilizing Pressures:

Vacuum should stabilize momentarily at 5 to 15 mbar (0.2 to 0.6 in. Hg)
Pressure should stabilize at 25 to 55 mbar (1.0 to 2.2 in Hg)

VACUUM SPECIFICATIONS

Two-Way Valve Stabilizing Pressures:

Vacuum should stabilize momentarily at 5 to 15 mbar (0.2 to 0.6 in. Hg)
Pressure should stabilize at 25 to 55 mbar (1.0 to 2.2 in Hg)

Vacuum to the EGR valve should be as follows:

At idle No vacuum
3000 rpm 70 - 200 mbar (2 - 6 in. Hg)
3000 rpm with blocked vacuum bleed less than 70 mbar (2 in. Hg)
During rapid Acceleration 70 - 200 mbar (2 - 6 in. Hg)
During deceleration No vacuum

EGR Valve opens at 200 mbar (6 in. Hg) of vacuum.

Air Control Valve 'B' Vacuum Readings:
At idle No vacuum
At 2500 rpm 70 - 170 mbar (2 - 5 in. Hg)

Constant Vacuum Generator Output:
49 state/High altitude 180 - 280 mbar (7.1 - 11.0 in. Hg)
California 150 - 250 mbar (5.9 - 9.8 in. Hg)

TEMPERATURE SPECIFICATIONS

Controlled Air Cleaner Temperature 25°C (100°F)

Thermovalve 'A' switching temperature 55°C (131°F)

Carburetor Thermovalve Opening Temperature 33°C (91°F)

Air Bleed Valve 'B' (in air cleaner) Opening Temperature 65°C (149°F)

Purge Cut-Off Control Solenoid Valve Operation
Below 55°C (131°F) blocks manifold vacuum from the purge control valve.
Above 55°C (131°F) directs manifold vacuum to the purge control valve.
Spark Control Thermovalve Opening Temperature 50°C (122°F)
