Power Assist Test at Idle

1. Ensure power steering fluid level and belt tension prior to testing.

2. Start engine allow to idle. Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to warm fluid.

Power Assist Test:

3. Attach spring scale to the steering wheel. With engine idling and car on clean, dry floor pull scale. Note scale reading as soon as steering wheel begins to turn.
