1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Slide both front seats back fully.
3. Remove lower panel, Fig. 30.
4. Remove front and rear consoles as follows:
a. Lift up parking brake lever.
b. On manual transmission models, remove shift lever knob.
c. On all models, remove rear console, then the front console using numbered sequence shown in Fig. 31.
d. Disconnect wire harness inside front console.
5. Disconnect wire harnesses from connector holder and fuse box, then the speedometer cable, Fig. 32.
6. Remove six screws attaching radio panel, then disconnect wire connectors and antenna cable, Fig. 33.

7. On automatic transmission models, disconnect shift position switch connectors, Fig. 34.
8. On all models, disconnect heater control cable.
9. Disconnect wire harnesses and connectors from heater control unit, Fig. 35.
10. Remove clock from top of instrument panel, Fig. 36.
11. Lower steering column and remove instrument panel mounting bolts, Fig. 37.
12. Lift instrument panel as you pull so it will slide up and off guide pin at center of dash. Ensure panel does not fall when it comes off guide pin.
13. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure that instrument panel fits onto guide pin correctly.
b. Before tightening instrument panel bolts, ensure wires are not pinched and panel does not interfere with heater control cable.
