1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Slide both front seats back fully.
3. Remove lower panel, Fig. 38.
4. Remove front and rear consoles in the following manner:
a. Lift up parking brake lever.
b. On manual transmission models, remove shift lever knob.
c. On all models, remove rear console first, before front console by removing screws in numbered sequence, Fig. 31.
d. After removing front console, disconnect wire harness inside console.
5. Disconnect wire harnesses from connector holder and fuse box, Fig. 39.
6. Remove 6 screws attaching radio panel. Disconnect wire connectors and antenna cable, then remove radio, Fig. 33.

7. Disconnect heater control cable, Fig. 40.
8. Disconnect wire harnesses and connectors from heater control unit, Fig. 35.
9. Remove clock from top of instrument panel, Fig. 36.
10. Lower steering column and remove instrument panel mounting bolts, Fig. 37.
11. Lift instrument panel as you pull so it will slide up and off guide pin at center of dash. Hold it from underneath so it won't fall when it comes off guide pin.
12. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure that instrument panel fits onto guide pin correctly.
b. Before tightening instrument panel bolts, ensure wires are not pinched and that panel does not interfere with heater control cable.
