Idle Control System (Warm Engine RPM Too Low)

Check According To Following Conditions:

1. Idle RPM is below spec (No Load)
a. Electronic Air Control Valve (EACV) (14)
b. Idle Adjusting Screw
2. Idle speed does not increase after initial start up
a. Electronic Air Control Valve (EACV) (14)
3. On models with automatic transmission, the idle speed drops in gear
a. A/T Shift Position Signal
b. Electronic Air Control Valve (EACV)
4. Idle speed drops when air conditioner is on
a. Air Conditioning Signal
b. Electronic Air Control Valve (EACV) (14)
5. Idle speed drops when steering wheel is turning
a. P/S Oil Pressure Switch Signal
b. Electronic Air Control Valve (EACV) (14)
6. Idle speed fluctuates with electrical load
a. Electronic Air Control Valve (EACV) (14)

NOTE:
After each symptom, the system that could be the source of the symptom are listed and should be checked in the order they are listed, beginning with #1.

(BU) code used when the CHECK ENGINE warning light is on, and the self-diagnosis indicator LED is ON with no "blinks", the back-up system is in operation.

Self-diagnosis indicator, (LED) blinks (?), will follow associated systems.
