Vacuum Switch: Description and Operation

The vacuum switch, mounted inside of the control box, converts carburetor ported vacuum into electrical signals and inputs to the ECU. The vacuum switch is one of the sensors used by the ECU to determine high vacuum (deceleration), and deactivates the two primary slow mixture cut-off valves to stop fuel flow during deceleration to improve fuel mileage.
