Security Systems - Warranty Extension

Dear Honda Service Manager:
American Honda has extended the Security Systems Limited Warranty time and mileage limits.
Effective March 19, 1990, Security Systems distributed by American Honda and installed by an authorized Honda Automobile Dealer prior to retail sale of the automobile are warranted for the duration of the new car warranty: 36 months or 36,000 miles.
Honda Security Systems installed by an authorized Honda Automobile Dealer after retail sale are warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles, or the remainder of the New Car Limited Warranty, whichever is longer.
Honda Security Systems purchased from, but not installed by, an authorized Honda Automobile Dealer are warranted for 12 months from the purchase date.
Additionally, any Honda Security System sold and installed by an authorized Honda Automobile Dealer will be repaired or replaced, at American Honda's option, without charge for parts or labor. If it is installed by someone other than an authorized Honda Automobile Dealer, the labor will not be reimbursed.
The provisions of this extension apply to both retail and wholesale customers.
Please post a copy of this letter, or Parts Information Bulletin # 90-0009, in a prominent location within your Parts and Service Departments.
