EXPLANATION OF FAULT CODES





If fault codes other than those listed in the chart are indicated, verify the code. If the code indicated is not listed in the chart, replace the ECU.
Fault codes can result from poor or intermittent electrical connection or wire problems. First check the electrical connections and wires, make repairs as necessary.
The "CHECK" engine warning light and the S3 warning light (located on the A/T gear select indicator) may light simultaneously when the self-diagnosis indicator blinks codes 6, 7, or 17. Check the PGM-FI system according to the PGM-FI troubleshooting procedure, then recheck the S3 warning light.
