Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators: Service Precautions

WARNING: To avoid accidental deployment and possible injury, always install the protective short connector on the airbag connector before working near any SRS wiring.

CAUTION: SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
The Accord includes a driver's side airbag, located in the steering wheel hub, as part of a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Special precautions are necessary when working on or near any SRS components.
- All SRS electrical wiring harnesses are covered with yellow outer insulation and related components are located in the steering column, center instrument panel, dash, and behind the dashboard lower cover. Do not use electrical test equipment on these circuits.
- Except when performing electrical inspections, always disconnect both the negative and positive cables at the battery before beginning work.
