EXTRACTING FAULT CODESIf the "CHECK" engine light has been reported on, you can extract the fault codes as follows:
Service Check Connector (2P):
1. Connect the Service Check Connector terminals with a jumper wire (the Service Check Connector is located behind the center console).
Check Engine Light:
2. The Check Engine light indicates a failure code by blinking frequency. The Check Engine light can indicate any number of simultaneous component problems by blinking separate codes, on after another. Problem codes 1 through 9 are indicated by individual short blinks. Problem codes 10 through 43 are indicated by a series of long and short blinks. The number of long blinks equals the first digit, the number of short blinks equals the second digit. Add the long and short blinks together to determine the fault code.
Fault Code Listing:
3. Remember to remove the jumper wire when you are done extracting fault code(s).
