Door/Trunk Ajar Indicator/Lamp: Description and Operation
The safety indicator comes on to alert the driver to safety related conditions. The display consists of bulbs arranged to illuminate a graphic display of the car. With the ignition switch in RUN or START battery voltage is supplied through fuse 1 to the safety indicator circuit.Indicator Check
When the ignition switch is in RUN or START the safety indicator circuit turns on the indicator bulbs for several seconds to test the display.
Ajar Indicators
When you open any door, trunk lid (coupe or sedan) or tailgate (wagon) , a ground is provided for the appropriate indicator, and the indicator light goes on. The light stays on as long as the door is open, and goes off when the door is closed.
