Window Chatter

SYMPTOM

The side window chatters while going up or down.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Excessive clearance between the window and the rear glass guide.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Adjust the clearance and grease the rear glass guide.





1. To access the rear glass guide upper adjusting bolt, remove the screw and plug from the weatherstrip. Pull the upper part of the weatherstrip away from the door.

2. Raise the window.





3. Loosen the adjusting bolt. Push on the top of the rear glass guide to remove the clearance between it and the window. Tighten the adjusting bolt.

4. Lower the window.

5. Apply Honda white lithium grease (see REQUIRED MATERIALS) to the inside of the rear glass guide. Cycle the window up and down, then apply a second coat of grease.

6. Reinstall the weatherstrip.
