Knock Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Direct testing of a Knock Sensor is not practical due to it's irregular occurrence and small amplitude. However tests should be performed on the circuit to confirm the integrity of the wires and connections.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the (KS) signal and contains in memory, data maps of expected Knock Sensor activity. Problems associated with the (KS) circuit should set DTC 23.
