Fuel Filter: Description and Operation

Fuel Filter:

PURPOSE
Used to trap contaminants before they can reach the fuel injectors.

OPERATION
Fuel supplied under pressure from the fuel pump passes through the filter paper, trapping contaminates as small as 6 micron in size.

CONSTRUCTION
Replaceable paper element type, contained in metal cannister with threaded adapters for inlet and outlet hoses. A service bolt is supplied so system pressure can be relieved prior to servicing.
