Intake Air System

PURPOSE
The Intake Air System consists of an Air Cleaner, Intake Air Pipe and Duct, Throttle Body, Intake Manifold and a resonator in the intake air pipe provides additional silencing. All these components are used in conjunction with each other to control and regulate intake air as it is drawn into the engine.

OPERATION
As the intake air flows through the intake air system, the air cleaner assembly keeps dirt, dust and foreign matter from entering the intake air stream. The throttle body has a manually operated "butterfly" valve which regulates the amount of intake air flowing into the engine. The Intake Manifold routes the intake air into the cylinder head.
