Cylinder Head Assembly: Testing and Inspection






WARPAGE
If camshaft-to-holder oil clearances are within specifications, check the cylinder head for warpage.

NOTE: If camshaft-to-holder oil clearance is not within specification, the cylinder head cannot be resurfaced.

^ If warpage is less than 0.05 mm (0.002 inch) cylinder head resurfacing in not required.
^ If warpage is between 0.05 mm (0.002 inch) and 0.2 mm (0.008 inch), resurface cylinder head.
^ Maximum resurface limit is 0.2 mm (0.008 inch) based on a height of 133 mm (5.24 inch).
^ Measure along edges, and three ways across center.
^ Cylinder Head Height: (To the camshaft center)
- Standard (New): 132.93-133.07 mm (5.233-5.239 inch)
