REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Wrap a flat-tip screwdriver in a shop towel to prevent damage to the mirror housing and the mirror holder; then with the screwdriver tip as close to the pivot as possible, carefully pry the mirror holder from the mirror base.
2. Remove and retain the dust boots and screw studs from the mirror holder. Discard the mirror holder.
3. Before installing the new mirror holder, apply silicone grease to the screw studs and the mirror holder. Install the screw studs onto the mirror holder, then install the dust boots onto the screw studs.
4. Hold the mirror holder close to the mirror housing. Secure the dust shields to the actuator cover without sliding them off of the screw studs.
5. Press the screw studs into the actuator gears, then press the mirror holder onto the pivot.
6. Test the mirror for full range of movement.
7. Test-drive the vehicle to make sure the mirror does not vibrate.
