Cylinder Block Assembly: Testing and Inspection






1. Measure wear and taper in directions X and Y at three levels in each cylinder as shown.
^ Cylinder Bore Size
- Standard (New): 81.000-81.020 mm (3.1890-3.1898 inch)
- Service Limit: 81.070 mm (3.1917 inch)
- Oversize:
^ 0.25: 81.25-81.27 mm (3.1988-3.1996 inch)
^ Bore Taper
- Limit: (Difference between first and third measurement) 0.05 mm (0.002 inch)
^ If measurements in any cylinder are beyond the Oversize Bore Service Limit, replace the block.
^ If the block is to be rebored, refer to Piston Clearance Inspection after reboring.

NOTE: Scored or scratched cylinder bores must be honed.

^ Reboring Limit: 0.25 mm (0.010 inch)





2. Check the top of the block for warpage. Measure along the edges and across the center as shown.





^ Engine Block Warpage:
- Standard (New): 0.05 mm (0.0020 inch) max.
- Service Limit: 0.08 mm (0.0031 inch)
