DTC 2-5
DTC 2-5: Short to ground in passenger's airbag inflator1. Erase the DTC memory.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator light comes on for about six seconds, and then goes off.
Does the SRS indicator light stay on?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures.
3. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wail for three minutes.
4. Disconnect the front passenger's airbag 2P connector from the SRS main harness 2P connector (A).
5. Connect the special tool (2 ohms) to the SRS main harness 2P connector.
6. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
7. Erase the DTC memory.
8. Read the DTC.
Is DTC 2-5 indicated?
YES - Go to step 9.
NO - Short to ground in the passenger's airbag inflator; replace the passenger's airbag.
9. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for three minutes.
10. Disconnect the driver's airbag 2P connector (A) from the cable reel 2P connector (B), and disconnect the special tool (2 ohms) from the SRS main harness 2P connector.
11. Disconnect the SRS main harness 18P connector (A) from the SRS unit (B).

12. Check resistance between the No.10 terminal of the SRS main harness 18P connector and body ground. There should be 1 M ohm or more. Then check resistance between the No. 14 terminal of the SRS main harness 18P connector and body ground. There should be 1 M ohm or more.
Is the resistance as specified?
YES - Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit.
NO - Short to ground in the SRS main harness; replace the SRS main harness.
