NOTE:
When tightening the TORX(R) bolts to the specified torque after replacement, be careful to turn them in so that their heads rest squarely on the brackets. Do not use an impact wrench or an air ratchet to tighten the Torx bolts.

10. Connect the electrical connectors to the SRS control unit; push them in until they click into position.

11. Reinstall the passenger's dashboard lower cover.

13. Reinstall the center console.

14. Reconnect the airbag connectors and the side airbag connectors.

*16. Initialize the OPDS unit:

^ If you have the HDS, go to OPDS Initialization With the HDS.

^ If you don't have the HDS, go to OPDS Initialization With the PGM Tester and SCS Service Connector.*

*OPDS Initialization With the HDS

1. Adjust the passenger's seat-back to a normal upright position, and remove anything that is on or near the seat.

2. If the seat is wet, start the engine, turn on the A/C, close the doors and windows, and run the A/C in recirculation mode for 30 minutes. This will dry out any moisture that may be in the front passengers seat.

3. Turn off the ignition switch.

4. Plug the HDS into the DLC (under the left side of the dashboard), and turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

5. Follow the screen prompts on the HDS to get to the Honda Systems screen. From there, select SRS.

6. From the SRS menu, select Miscellaneous Tests.

7. From the Miscellaneous Tests menu, select OPDS Initialization.

8. Follow the remaining screen prompts to complete the OPDS initialization.

9. Enter the anti-theft code for the radio and the customer's radio station presets. Set the clock.*

OPDS Initialization With the PGM Tester and SCS Service Connector

1. Adjust the passenger's seat-back to a normal upright position, and remove anything that is on or near the seat.

2. If the seat is wet, start the engine, turn on the NC, close the doors and windows, and run the A/C in recirculation mode for 30 minutes. This will dry out any moisture that may be in the front passenger's seat.

3. Turn off the ignition switch.

4. Plug the PGM Tester into the DLC (under the left side of the dashboard), and follow the Tester's prompts in the "SCS" menu.

NOTE:
When the screen prompt says "The SCS line in the 16P DLC has been grounded, " do not press EXIT or YES on the keypad. That would take you out of the SCS mode, and initialization would not be completed.

5. Connect the SCS Service Connector to the MES connector (2P). Do not use a jumper wire.

6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

7. The SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and goes off. Remove the SCS Service Connector from the MES connector within 4 seconds of the indicator going off.

8. When the SRS indicator comes on again, reconnect the SCS service connector to the MES connector within 4 seconds.

9. The SRS indicator goes off. Remove the SCS Service Connector from the MES connector within 4 seconds.

10. Watch the SRS indicator:

^ If the indicator blinks two times and then goes off, the OPDS unit is initialized. Turn the ignition switch off, and disconnect the PGM Tester. Go to step 13.

^ If the indicator blinks two times and then stays on, the OPDS is initialized, but the DTCs need to be erased. Go to step 11.

^ If the indicator doesn't blink and stays on, the OPDS is not initialized. Repeat steps 3 thru 10.

11. Turn off the ignition switch, and disconnect the PGM Tester.

12. Repeat steps 5 thru 10 (with the PGM Tester disconnected) to erase the DTC.

13. Enter the anti-theft code for the radio and the customer's radio station presets. Set the clock.
