WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.

2. Use contact cleaner and a shop towel to clean any undercoating off the ends of the rear suspension lower arms and control arms.

3. Use a mirror to inspect the ends of the lower arms and control arms to determine the lot number of each arm. The lot number is stamped on only one end of each arm.

^ If the lot number on the end of the arm is 018051, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

^ If the lot number is not 018051, or the lot number is on the top or bottom of the arm, the arm does not need replacing. If all four arms pass inspection, center-punch the VIN and return the vehicle to the customer (see step 3 of REPAIR PROCEDURE).

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Replace all lower arms and control arms that have a lot number of 018051. Refer to the 1998-00 Accord Service Manual for the replacement procedure.

2. Realign the rear suspension.

3. Center-punch a completion mark above the third character (G) of the engine compartment VIN.
