Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, precautions, and procedures in the Supplemental Restraint System before performing repairs or service.

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the radio's preset buttons.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
3. Remove the dashboard lower cover.
4. Remove the door sill molding, left kick panel and access panel.
5. Disconnect the 5P connector from the under-dash fuse/relay box, and disconnect the 3P connector from the main wire harness.
6. Remove the steering column covers.
7. Insert the ignition key, and turn it to "0".




8. Remove the two screws, and replace the electrical switch.
9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
10. After reconnecting the battery, enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
