Steering Rack Rattles While Turning

PROBLEM
The steering rack rattles when you turn the steering wheel.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

^ For vehicles with less than 25,000 miles, replace the EPS gearbox (REPAIR PROCEDURE A).

^ For vehicles with more than 25,000 miles, adjust the steering rack guide (REPAIR PROCEDURE B).

^ Online, enter keyword Steering Gear, and select Steering Gearbox Removal from the list.

REPAIR PROCEDURE B

For vehicles with more than 25,000 miles, adjust the steering rack guide:

^ Refer to page 17-13 of the 2002-05 Civic Hatchback Service Manual, or

^ Online, enter keyword Rack Guide, and select Rack Guide Adjustment from the list.
