Dashboard/Steering Hanger Beam Disassembly/ReassemblySpecial Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
1. Remove the dashboard/steering hanger beam.
2. Remove these items from the dashboard:
- Center panel
- Instrument panel
- Gauge assembly
- Passenger's airbag
- Sunlight sensor
3. Open the driver's door, and gently pull out on the bottom of the dashboard side cover (A) to release the lower clip, then release the remaining clip and hooks (B), to remove the cover.
4. Remove the cushion tapes fastening the sunlight sensor harness to the back of the dashboard.
5. Remove the bolts (A, B) and screws (C) securing the dashboard (D) and steering hanger beam (E), and if equipped, disconnect the rear window defogger switch connector (F), cruise control main switch connector (G), power mirror switch connector (H), and in-car temperature sensor connector (1), and separate the dashboard and steering hanger beam.
6. Reassemble the dashboard and steering hanger beam in the reverse order of disassembly, and note these items;
- Make sure the dashboard wire harness (J) is not pinched.
- Make sure the connectors are connected properly.
