Transmission Installation

Special Tools Required
^ Engine hanger support bar 07AAK-S5AA000*
^ Engine hanger, A & Reds ARR-T-12566*
^ Engine hanger adapter EQS00BRSX0*
^ Subframe adapter EQS02ACVC0*

*Available through the Honda Tool and Equipment Program 888-424-6857

1. Check that the two dowel pins are installed in the clutch housing.





2. Apply Super High Temp Urea Grease (P/N 08798-9002) to the release fork (A) and the release bearing (B). Install the release fork and the release bearing.
3. Place the transmission on a transmission jack, and raise it to the engine level.





4. Install the five lower transmission mounting bolts.





5. Install the rear transmission mount.





6. Install the front transmission mount.





7. Support the subframe with the subframe adapter and a transmission jack.





8. Install the front suspension subframe (A) in its original position by aligning the marks (B) you made in the removal procedure.





9. Loosely tighten the front transmission mount bracket mounting bolt.





10. Install the three rear mounting bolts for the transmission rear mount.





11. Install the three way catalytic converter.
12. Install the intermediate shaft.
13. Install the driveshafts.





14. Install the transmission mount bracket (A), transmission mounting bolts (B) and nuts (C).





15. Loosen the front transmission mount bracket mounting bolt, then tighten the front transmission mount bracket mounting bolt.





16. Install the splash shield.





17. Install the one upper transmission mounting bolt.





18. Remove the engine hanger adapter and engine hanger support bar from the engine.





19. Install the starter (A), then connect the starter cable (B).





20. Connect the vehicle speed sensor connector (A) and neutral switch connector (B).





21. Apply Super High Temp Urea Grease (P/N 08798-9002) to the shift and select cable ends. Install the air cleaner housing bracket (A).
22. Apply Super High Temp Urea Grease (P/N 08798-9002) to the shift and select cable ends. Install the cable bracket (B) and cables (C).





23. Apply Super High Temp Urea Grease (P/N 08798-9002) to the end of the cylinder rod. Install the slave cylinder. Take care not to bend clutch line.





24. Install the throttle link cover.





25. Install the ground cable (A), then connect the back up light switch connector (B).





26. Install the air cleaner housing bracket (A) and clips (B).
27. Install the air cleaner housing.
28. Install the battery. Connect the positive (+) cable first, then the negative (-) cable to the battery.
29. Refill the transmission fluid.
30. Test-drive the vehicle.
31. Check the clutch operation.
32. Check the front wheel alignment.
33. Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
34. Do the engine control module (ECM) idle learn procedure.
