There's a new silicone grease available for the Sanden A/C compressor thermal protector in
'01-05 Civics. You'll find it listed as the TPS Silicone Kit.






When replacing the thermal protector, make sure you remove all of the old silicone grease and gunk from the compressor housing where the protector mounts. Pack the new silicone grease into the compressor housing cavity up to the edge of the lip.

When you install the new thermal protector, the silicone grease should completely fill up the cavity. If needed, use a clean shop towel to wipe off any excess grease.
