Excessive Engine Vibration With DTC POAI4

(Supersedes 07-059, dated September 21, 2007, to update the information marked by asterisks)

SYMPTOM

Excessive engine vibration is felt while driving, and DTC P0A14 (front engine mount actuator circuit malfunction) is stored.

PROBABLE CAUSE

There is an error in the engine mount control current measurement.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the engine mount control unit, and clear the stored DTC from the PCM.

Out of warranty:
Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.

DIAGNOSIS

If the vehicle comes in with an engine vibration complaint, connect the HDS to the vehicle's DLC, and check for DTC POA14 in the PGM-FI system.

^ If DTC POA14 is stored, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

^ If DTC POA14 is not stored, continue with normal troubleshooting.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Replace the engine mount control unit:

^ Refer to page 11-356 in the 2005-2007 Accord Hybrid Service Manual, or

^ Online, enter keyword ENGINE UNIT REPLACEMENT, and select Engine Mount Control Unit Replacement.

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS, and test-drive the vehicle again to make sure the DTC does not return. If the DTC returns, continue with normal troubleshooting.
