2006-07 Accord Hybrid: MIL Comes On With DTC P0300 and One or More of DTCs P0301 Thru P0306

REVISION SUMMARY

* Under WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION, the flat rate time was changed because the MVCI updates control modules more efficiently.*

SYMPTOM

The MIL comes on with DIG P0300 (random cylinder misfire detected) and at least one of DTCs P0301 thru P0306 (No.1 thru No.6 cylinder misfire detected).

PROBABLE CAUSE

The PGM-FI software misinterprets inputs, causing the DTCs to set.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS.

SOFTWARE INFORMATION

HDS Software Version 2.020.022 or later.

Control Module (GM) Update:

Database Update 25-DEC-2009 or later.

NOTE:
To avoid an incorrect repair that would not be covered under warranty, use software version listed above or a later version.





The updated PGM-FI software program IDs and P/Ns are shown. If the HDS is loaded with the latest software, and it displays No Update Needed during the update, the software for this service bulletin is already installed.

DIAGNOSIS

Use the HDS to inspect the freeze data or the on-board snapshot data of the stored DTC(s).

Is the engine coolant temperature reading between 14 degrees F and 140 degrees F (-10 degrees C and 60 degrees C)?

YES - Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE. NO - This service bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal troubleshooting.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS. Refer to Service Bulletin 01-023, Updating Control Units/Modules.
