Hood: Adjustments

Adjustment

1. Slightly loosen each hood hinge bolt.




2. Adjust the hood alignment in this sequence.
- Adjust the hood right and left, as well as forward and rearward, by using the elongated holes on the hood hinge (A).
- Turn the hood edge cushions (B), as necessary, to make the hood fit flush with the body at the front and side edges.

3. Remove the front bulkhead cover, and release the upper portion of the hood latch cover (C) as necessary. Adjust the hood latch (D) to obtain the proper height at the forward edge, and move the hood latch right or left until the striker (E) is centered in the hood latch.
4. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
5. Check that the hood opens properly and closes securely.
6. Apply touch-up paint to the hinge mounting bolts and around the hinges.




7. Apply multipurpose grease to each location of the hood latch and hood hinge as indicated by the arrows.
8. Reinstall the front bulkhead cover.
